"I believe that if an angel were to wing his way from earth up to Heaven, and were to say that there was one poor, ragged boy, without father or mother, with no one to care for him and teach him the way of life; and if God were to ask who among them were willing to come down to this earth and live here for fifty years and lead that one to Jesus Christ, every angel in Heaven would volunteer to go. Even Gabriel, who stands in the presence of the Almighty, would say, 'Let me leave my high and lofty position, and let me have the luxury of leading one soul to Jesus Christ.' There is no greater honor than to be the instrument in God's hands of leading one person out of the kingdom of Satan into the glorious light of Heaven."--Dwight L. Moody

While in Bangladesh...

Our family has always wanted to go on a mission trip, and have looked at numerous options through the years, but nothing seemed like a good fit.  In July, while attending Arme Bible Camp, our family met Dave and Beverly Waid and learned more about Bangla Hope Orphanage in Bangladesh.  When we approached them about the possibility of coming to visit their orphanage, they said they would love to have us come.  Through numerous emails and phone calls, plans began to materialize.

They have asked our family to put on two Vacation Bible School programs in the village schools where there are approximately 70 students in each school.  We will do a program at one school in the morning and at another school in the afternoon.  We will also put on a week of prayer program for the children at the orphanage who are ages 9 years and younger.  In the evenings, we'll do a week of prayer program for the house mothers (the women who take care of the children).  The rest of our time there will be spent helping with projects around the orphanage and spending time with the children.   We praise the Lord for opening the doors for this wonderful opportunity.

  4. Hi Mike, Chris and girls. Your first arrival "news" sounds exciting! I'm sure the sanitation will be part of your "forever" memories of that trip. BUT--how warm to hear of your wonderful bonding with the orphans!!! How sad to think of their plight, how wonderful the "devotion" to help. We are proud of what you are doing and love you lots! Dad and Jeanne
PS: You missed a stunning snow storm by going overseas!
